The LOWA Tibet EVO 400 GTX® is a winter boot from the LOWA® brand. They are designed for movement and static loads under extreme mountain conditions. This model combines durability, functionality, warmth retention and protection from precipitation. This makes the LOWA® Tibet EVO 400 GTX® a good choice not only for tourists but also for the military.
Materials
The main raw material from which the Tibet EVO 400 GTX® is made is genuine buffalo leather. It is a durable and wear-resistant material that also has high vapor permeability and moisture protection. Nubuck is used on the tongue, which is softer and more elastic than smoothly dyed leather. To protect the lateral area of the skin, the boot has a rubber lug, which also allows the use of ice shoes, snowshoes and climbing crampons with rubber clips. The rubberized edge also protects the shoe and foot from stones and branches.
Related technologies
The forefoot and lateral areas of the shoe are constructed using Minimal Seams technology, which reduces the number of seams and overlapping materials by using large pieces of material to form the upper part of the shoe. This reduces the number of pressure points on the foot, which increases comfort while walking.
Inside the boot is PrimaLoft® 400 technological insulation, which was developed specifically for low temperatures. The Gore-Tex® Duratherm membrane is used to protect against precipitation. It guarantees protection against moisture from the outside and good vapor permeability, and has an additional layer of insulation for better heat retention. The most important thing that distinguishes this membrane from its analogues is the control of products at every stage of production directly by Gore-Tex®.
The Vibram® Mottarone Arctic Grip outsole was created specifically for use in extremely cold conditions. It provides incredible traction on rocky, smooth and wet icy surfaces thanks to special anti-slip inserts. Because of this, the Tibet EVO 400 GTX® is a constant companion of tourists, as it has proven itself during multi-day and difficult mountain expeditions around the world.
Inside, between the upper and the outsole, is the Dual Density DuraPU® midsole, a high-tech foam layer. It plays a key role not only in the shock absorption properties of the shoe, but also prevents excessive pronation and supination of the foot (not anatomical inward and outward bending of the foot, respectively). DynaPU® also does not lose its high performance characteristics with constant use.
The FlexFit system allows for a natural range of motion in the ankle. Special inserts in the Achilles tendon area and between the upper and lower lacing areas allow the foot to flex and extend comfortably. At the same time, the foot remains securely fixed.
Inside the boot is a LOWA® Insulate Pro insulated insole. It has a foil insert inside that shields the cold coming from the ground and retains heat inside. In this way, the foot is protected from the cold not only by the insulation on the sides, but also the foot remains warm.
Lacing
The lacing technology of the Tibet EVO 400 GTX® deserves special attention. A two-zone lacing system is provided for reliable and maximally comfortable foot fixation. It consists of closed loops and hooks and allows you to lace up the foot and ankle area with different strengths. It is assisted by special I-Lock loops with an integrated locking device. After the loop is lowered into the boot, the lace is securely locked in the selected position.
The anatomical C4-Tongue has additional padding to help reduce pressure points on the ankle. It has a special hook that is part of the patented X-Lacing technology. Thanks to this, the tongue is held both vertically and horizontally. This prevents slippage, thereby reducing pressure points or the possibility of hydrocephalus. X-Lacing ensures that the pressure of the laces is not only transferred to the hooks, but also to the tongue.
The LOWA® Tibet EVO 400 GTX® is your reliable companion in the most difficult situations!
